During gamete intrafallopian transfer, eggs
harvested from a female are mixed with sperm and delivered to the fallopian
tube with the use of a laparoscope and catheter. Since fertilization takes
place in the fallopian tube during this procedure, it is not performed in women
with damaged or blocked tubes.
