Immediate limb lengthening involves the surgical
lengthening of a leg or arm so that it can better match the opposite limb.
During the procedure, the bone is cut and the ends are moved apart to make room
for a bone transplant. The pieces are then held together with screws.
Additionally, a bone-shaped biodegradable structure is inserted in between the
natural bone.
